Volkswagen Race Car

The models racing in various motorsports series have moved too far away from production cars. Take NASCAR, which has become a personality show .

trying to find a new car to replace my worn out Honda that had little to no life left. |} The price I was hoping to cover was around $20,000 giving me lots of options to choose from. After test driving a number of different versions, I decided about the Volkswagen Race Car. My experience has been largely positive, however the car isn't without faults.

Acceleration: The car has the 5cylinder engine with 150hp. It transfers the car around satisfactorily enough, however, the car isn't fast by any other means. Fortunately the transmission is a 6 speed to be sure you're constantly in the best gear. If you get a brand new Jetta, the car should feel a little more peppy as it's an additional 20 horsepower. Overall I'd give the car a 7/10 for acceleration.

Transmission: The transmission is a 6 speed automatic which is unheard of in this price range.  It is extremely smooth. {I'd accelerate the transmission a 9/10.

Handling/Steering: The auto steers accurately and supplies just the perfect amount of feedback. really remarkable and the car always feels in control. |} tackling.|}

Ride: The car rides company, but is controlled and comfortable. I prefer a firmer ride to the soft mushy feeling you get in a car such as the Toyota Camry. Overall 8/10.

Seating: There's a lot of space front and back. For passengers and the seating is firm, but comfortable. There are loads of adjustments for the front seats including knee modification. The steering wheel tilts and telescopes making it effortless for everyone to obtain a good driving position. Overall 9/10

Trunk: The trunk is huge, and is bigger than most. In addition, the automobile gets hooks for you grocery bags so they stay in a vertical position. It's touches like these that make this car unique.  10/10

Exterior Styling: Your car looks classy with its chrome grille therapy, but the car is a little too tall for my tastes. A number of the outside views look somewhat too Japanese for my taste, including the back which has tail lights such as the Toyota Corolla. Overall 7/10

Interior Styling: The inside looks more expensive the anything in the course. The materials are rich and surfaces feel high quality. 10/10

Security: This car has airbags galore including two front, two side, and head airbags also. 10/10

Reliability: I have not had any significant difficulties with the car, but it only has 33,000 miles on it. The transmission strikes down harshly sometimes and some of the inside components come loose. Also, the passenger door has been sticky ever since I bought it. People must pull on the door handle twice to open it. Overall I'd rate reliability a 7/10.

Price/Value: Considering its features, quality, and distance the Jetta delivers good value for the price. 8/10
