Even the 2010 Camaro is one of the few cars to come from the plan studio appearing very much like it's prototype. Rather than send an upgraded fifth production version of the Camaro, the sometimes overused decorative motif was selected, hearkening back into the design cues that made the automobile such a large hit when it debuted in 1967. But  Reeder Chevrolet Used Cars Knoxville Tn did a terrific job of evoking the taste of yesteryear with modern creature comforts. But how is it to drive the new 2010 Camaro?

Camaro RS

Various trim levels are available to produce the auto suit your preference, but most folks will look at one of two presently available models: both the RS and SS versions. My very first test drive was with the six cylinder powered RS (for rebound Sport) version. This V6 is a version of the General Motors corporate engine that goes in many of their cars these days. contemporary technology, this motor makes over 300 horsepower.  For reference, the last of the fourth generation Camaro's just made around 20 more horsepower, which was with a V8.

In the Cockpit

Standard equipment on the 2010 Camaro is abundant, but some materials are a bit tough on the eyes and a bit less delicate to the touch for a car in the price point. The dark inside contrasts the thin slit of light coming from through the very cool looking, but hard to see from windows. Some purpose is, regrettably, sacrificed in the name of selling and form more cars.

The RS might be the very best price for all,  the conventional independent rear suspension and light six cylinder motor contributing to a light front end with enough electricity to produce the RS a excellent handling car. Autocrossers may like the RS for just this reason. But what the six lacks, besides a power bulge to V8 territory, is the kick in the pants power and sound of their corporate LS series engines installed in much more expensive models. Without further ado, we move on the the Camaro"King of the Hill".

Camaro SS

The Super Sport version jobs to remember the days of big block energy. Chevrolet's site says this 6.2 liter V8 may get a real world 19 miles per gallon in the EPA evaluation cycle. But with 422 horsepower on tap, so many will not be able to control themselves enough to view their very best mileage. In fact, after driving the SS, it was hard to return it into the dealer. The SS does everything the RS does, but with more force. The managing is somewhat compromised with the heavier engine, however, the suspension does a good job of reigning that in. Should understeer become an problem, judicious (not unbridled, particularly with all the SS) program of the throttle will help that separate back step outside and correct the vehicles' direction.

With a mimimum of 300 horsepower along with a few impressive standard equipment, the 2010 Camaro is enjoyable.  Check off the option box for this SS motor and you'll feel superhuman when behind the wheel. Although outward visibility is slightly compromised, there'll be no mistake when you come down the road this can be really anything but a Camaro. Considering all of this, it's not surprising that the vehicle has got the status of a Consumer's Digest Best Buy.
