Our long term automobile is a semi automatic model Mazda 3 having mid-year additional features such as piano black trim, mp3 compatible CD changer, power driver's seat, lighted vanity mirrors and snowy gauge needles.  In Addition, it has a new colour for the Mazda3: Metropolitan Gray Mica. Mazda Miata Rc Car added a second new colour for the mid year version with a beautiful white decoration option but we are MGM people.

There are other subtle differences but out of the above mentioned things that the 2008.5 Mazda 3 is still pretty similar to the 2008 Mazda3.

About the Driver

I am coming from a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible alternative so while I corrected my expectations to get the lower price point ($22K using s-plan) I was not prepared for the method by which in which the Mazda3 would blow me away.

I drive my own cars assertively (sometimes assertively aggressive if there's anything ) and will really put this vehicle through the motions during ownership. Driving a vehicle is an adventure each time and I rely heavily on important driving/comfort facets like acceleration, handling, ride, cottage sound, long term driving comfort and in car technology that will shape upcoming updates.

Notice: You may observe a pretty heavy contrast in my initial|initial} impressions of the G35 into the Mazda 3 and that's largely because in part to the simple fact that I almost purchased the Mazda3 in 2005 but was offered a very good rental deal on a 2005 G35x packed for nearly the same I would pay to get the Mazda3.

Seemed like a fantastic idea at that time. Biggest regret of my life.

Now you understand me, let's discuss why you are here: first impressions!

First Impressions

There are lots of very impressive features in this vehicle! I fought for a long time without being current within my 2005 Infiniti along with the Mazda 3  like an answer to my prayers. Here are some of my favorite features

1) Remote Start - I  can't believe how bad cool remote start actually is. Producers are now starting to give remote launch as an accessory that is installed in the port and I recommend it 200%. It is perfect for each and every  possible hot/cold day when you don't feel like running out in the weather to start the car so it may warm up only to run back into the house and finish getting ready.

Remote start is some thing I really could see myself not living without ever and it wasn't an option on the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for supplying it. For the 2008.5 mid-year refresh, the Mazda has integrated the remote launch into the normal key fobs so today you won't have two sets of control keys to use on a single set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - In case you've never seen it, you wouldn't believe it. While driving home I did not believe the rain sensing wipers were functioning correctly because the stem seemed to be in the perfect place and it was raining pretty hard. I fiddled with all the stalk for just a little bit and discovered that it was in its own"Off" position rather than"Automobile". After rotating the end piece into the perfect place it functions quite well but I don't think putting"Away" and"Auto" within a knob's turn away was the best idea on earth.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - I still|I still} really don't know whether it is manual actually. It is kind of manual and automatic. You move the change up or down until you arrive at the amount you want (0 - 3) along with also the car corrects the headlights to suit that particular setting. The leveling headlights are not gimmicky whatsoever and were pretty helpful whilst driving through fog along with increasing the sleeves to watch for deer/pedestrians across the side of the road. Another brilliant feature the G35x has been missing.

4) Aux Input - This really is the golden attribute for me! For the longest time (since 2005) I have always wanted a way to play my iPod in my car.  I can't even begin to count the amount of trips and meetings I have been late to while waiting for a CD to burn off so I did not have to pay attention to the same|identical|exact} old crap in my car whilst driving . In fact, I wanted that the aux input so poor that I denied that the Mazda CX-7 when considering my next vehicle purchase only based on the absence of an aux input and it was worth it ten times over. I really like being able to plug my iPhone into the stereo and simply scroll through the entire playlists to discover a list I am feeling right now. It works seamlessly and I couldn't be more ecstatic over this attribute.

5) The Ride - Many people will offer me a confused look but I am telling you that the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT has a quieter ride than the 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does it ride but it is much quieter and it doesn't make the"Mothership" car sick when I drive with her in the vehicle. Thumbs up all around!

So those are the top five favourite things about the vehicle. Overall it is actually just an experience that new car buyers have to try and believe because it is extremely uncommon at that price point. I am finally excited to drive different places just to maintain the vehicle and I love all about it! In the event you don't own one, buy one. If you have one, buy a 2008.5 version! The new trim, power driver's seat, gauges and all things in between are worthwhile.
