long-term automobile is a semi automatic model Mazda 3 using mid-year added features like piano black cut, mp3 compatible CD changer, power driver's seat, lighted vanity mirrors and snowy indicator needles.  Additionally, it has a new colour for the Mazda3: Metropolitan Gray Mica. Mazda Cx 9 Car And Driver added a second new colour for the mid year version with a gorgeous white decoration option but we're MGM people.

There are other subtle differences however out of the aforementioned things the 2008.5 Mazda 3 is still pretty similar to the 2008 Mazda3.

About the Driver

I am coming out of a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible alternative so while I corrected my expectations to get the lower price point ($22K with s-plan) that I wasn't ready for the method by which in which the Mazda3 would blow me away.

I push my cars assertively (sometimes assertively competitive if there is such a thing) and will really put this car through the motions during ownership. Driving a car is an adventure each time and that I rely heavily on significant driving/comfort aspects like acceleration, handling, ride, cottage sound, long term driving relaxation and in automobile technology which will all shape forthcoming upgrades.

Note: You might observe a pretty hefty contrast in my initial|initial} impressions of the G35 to the Mazda 3 and that's mostly due in part to the fact that I almost purchased the Mazda3 in 2005 but was offered a very good rental deal on a 2005 G35x packed for almost the same that I would pay to have the Mazda3.

Seemed like a fantastic idea at the moment.

Now you understand me, let's discuss why you are here: first impressions!

First Impressions

There are tons of very impressive features on this car! I struggled for quite a very long time with not being current within my 2005 Infiniti along with the Mazda 3  similar to an answer to my prayers. Here are some of my favorite features

1) Remote Start - I really  can not believe how awful cool remote start really is. Manufacturers are now beginning to supply remote launch as an accessory that is installed in the port and I advocate it 200%. It is perfect for each  possible hot/cold day whenever you don't feel like exercising in the weather to begin the car so that it can warm up just to run back into the home and finish getting ready.

Remote start is something that I could see myself not living without ever again and it was not an option on the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for offering it. For the 2008.5 mid-year refresh, the Mazda has integrated the distant launch into the regular key fobs so now you won't have two kinds of controller keys to work with on one set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - In case you've never seen it, you wouldn't believe it. While driving home I did not think the rain sensing wipers were functioning correctly because the stalk seemed to be in the right place and it was raining pretty hard. I fiddled with all the stalk for a little bit and discovered that it was in its own"Off" position instead of"Automobile". After rotating the end piece into the right place it functions quite nicely but I do not think putting"Away" and"Auto" inside a knob's twist away was the best idea on the planet.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - I still|I still} really don't know whether it's manual really. It is kind of manual and automatic. You move the switch up or down till you arrive at the number you want (0 - 3) along with the automobile corrects the headlights to match that setting. The leveling headlights aren't gimmicky at all and were pretty helpful when driving through fog along with lifting the headlights to watch for deer/pedestrians across the face of the road. Another brilliant feature the G35x has been missing.

4) Aux Input - This is the gold feature for me! For the longest time (since 2005) I have always desired a way to play my iPod in my car.  I can not even start to count the number of excursions and meetings I have been overdue to while searching for a CD to burn so I did not have to listen to the exact same|identical|exact} old crap in my car when driving . Actually, I desired the aux input so poor that I denied the Mazda CX-7 when contemplating my next automobile purchase only based on its absence of an aux input and it was worth it ten times over. I really like being able to plug in my iPhone to the stereo and simply scroll through the playlists to discover a list I am feeling at the moment. It works easily and that I couldn't be more thrilled over this feature.

5) The Ride - Most people are going to offer me a confused look but I am telling you the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT includes a nicer ride than my 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does this ride but it's much easier and it doesn't create the"Mothership" car sick when I push her in the car. Thumbs up all over!

So these are my top five favourite things about the car. Overall it's really just an experience that new car buyers have to try and believe because it's extremely rare at the price point. I am finally excited to drive different places just to maintain the car and I love all about it! If you don't own one, then buy one. If you have one, purchase a 2008.5 version! newest trim, power driver's seat, gauges and all things in between are worthwhile.
