long-term automobile is a mid-year model Mazda 3 with mid-year additional features like piano black cut, mp3 compatible CD changer, power driver's seat, lighted vanity mirrors and snowy indicator needles.  In Addition, it has a new color for the Mazda3: Metropolitan Gray Mica. Mazda Car Mats added a second new color for the mid year version with a gorgeous white decoration choice but we're MGM people.

There are other subtle variations but out of the above mentioned things that the 2008.5 Mazda 3 is fairly much like this 2008 Mazda3.

About the Driver

I'm coming out of a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible alternative so while I adjusted my expectations for the reduced price ($22K with s-plan) I wasn't ready for the way the Mazda3 would blow me away.

I push my own cars assertively (sometimes assertively competitive if there is such a thing) and can put this car through the motions during ownership. Driving a car is an adventure each time and I rely heavily on important driving/comfort facets like handling, acceleration, ride, cabin sound, long duration driving relaxation and in car technology which will shape upcoming upgrades.

Notice: You may notice a fairly heavy comparison in my very first|initial} impressions of this G35 to the Mazda 3 and that's mostly because in part to the fact that I almost bought the Mazda3 in 2005 but was offered an excellent lease deal on a 2005 G35x packed for the same I would pay to own the Mazda3.

Seemed like a fantastic idea at that time.

Now that you understand me, let's discuss why you're here: first impressions!

First Impressions

There are a ton of very impressive features in this car! I struggled for a very long time with not being technologically current within my 2005 Infiniti and the Mazda 3  like an reply to my prayers. Here are some of my favorite features

1) Remote Start - I really  can not believe how bad cool remote start actually is. Producers are now beginning to offer remote launch as an accessory that is installed in the interface and I advocate it 200%. It is excellent for each and every  potential hot/cold day when you don't feel like running out from the weather to begin the auto so it can warm up just to run back into the home and finish getting ready.

Remote start is something I really could see myself not alive without ever and it was not an option over the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for offering it. For the 2008.5 mid-year refresh, the Mazda has incorporated the remote launch into the normal important fobs so today you won't have two sets of control keys to use on a single set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - If you have never seen it, then you would not believe it. While driving home I did not think the rain sensing wipers were functioning properly because the stalk appeared to be in the perfect place and it was raining quite hard. I fiddled with all the stem to get a tiny bit and discovered that it was in its own"Off" position rather than"Auto". Once rotating the ending bit into the perfect place it functions quite nicely but I don't think placing"Off" and"Automobile" within a knob's turn away was the best idea in the world.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - I|I still} don't know whether it's manual actually. It is kind of manual and automatic. You move the switch up or down till you reach the amount you want (0 3) and also the car corrects the headlights to suit that setting. The leveling headlights are not gimmicky at all and were fairly helpful while driving through fog along with increasing the sleeves to watch for deer/pedestrians on the face of the street. Another brilliant feature the G35x has been overlooking.

4) Aux Input - This is the gold feature for me! For the longest time (since 2005) I have always wanted a way to play my iPod in my car.  I can not even begin to count the amount of excursions and meetings I have been overdue on to while searching for a CD to burn off so I did not need to listen to the exact same|identical|exact} old crap from my car while driving there. In fact, I wanted that the aux input so awful that I denied that the Mazda CX-7 when contemplating my next automobile purchase only based on its lack of an aux input and it was worth it ten times over. I really like having the ability to plug my iPhone to the stereo and simply scroll through the playlists to find a list I'm feeling at this time. It works easily and I couldn't be more thrilled over this attribute.

5) The Ride - Most people are going to give me a bewildered look but I'm telling you that the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT includes a nicer ride than the 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does it ride but it's much quieter and it does not create the"Mothership" auto sick after I push her in the car. Thumbs up all over!

So these are the top five favourite things about the car. Overall it's actually only an encounter that new car buyers need to attempt and believe because it's extremely rare at the price point. I'm finally excited to drive different places just to maintain the car and I really like everything about it! If you don't own one, buy one. If you have one, purchase a 2008.5 version! brand trim, power driver's seat, gauges and everything in between are worthwhile.
