long-term vehicle is a mid-year model Mazda 3 having mid-year added features like piano black cut, mp3 compatible CD changer, power driver's seat, lighted vanity mirrors and snowy gauge needles.  In Addition, it has a new colour for your Mazda3: Metropolitan Gray Mica. Mazda Automatic Cars added a second new colour for your mid year model with a gorgeous white decoration alternative but we're MGM individuals.

There are other subtle differences but outside of the aforementioned items the 2008.5 Mazda 3 is still fairly much like this 2008 Mazda3.

About the Driver

I'm coming out of a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible alternative so while I adjusted my expectations to get the lower price point ($22K with s-plan) that I wasn't ready for the method by which the Mazda3 would blow me off.

I drive my own cars assertively (sometimes assertively aggressive if there's such a thing) and can put this vehicle through the motions during possession. Driving a vehicle is an adventure each time and that I rely heavily on important driving/comfort facets like acceleration, handling, ride, cabin noise, long term driving comfort and in automobile technology that will all shape upcoming updates.

Note: You might notice a fairly heavy contrast in my very first|initial} impressions of this G35 to the Mazda 3 and that is largely due in part to the fact that I almost purchased the Mazda3 in 2005 but had been offered an excellent rental deal on a 2005 G35x packed for almost the same that I would pay to own the Mazda3.

Seemed like a fantastic idea at the moment. Biggest regret of my life.

Now you understand mepersonally, let's discuss why you're here: initial impressions!

First Impressions

There are a ton of very impressive features on this vehicle! I struggled for quite a very long time with not being current within my 2005 Infiniti and the Mazda 3  similar to an answer to my prayers. attributes

1) Remote Start - I really  can't think how wicked cool remote start really is. Manufacturers are finally beginning to provide remote launch as an attachment that's installed at the interface and I recommend it 200%. It is ideal for each  potential hot/cold day if you don't feel like exercising in the weather to start the car so it can warm up just to run back in the house and finish getting ready.

Remote start is some thing that I could see myself not alive without ever again and it was not a choice on the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for offering it. For your 2008.5 mid-year refresh, the Mazda has incorporated the remote launch into the normal important fobs so now you won't have two types of controller keys to work with on a single set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - If you've never seen it, you wouldn't think it. While driving home I did not think the rain sensing wipers were working correctly because the stalk appeared to be in the right place and it had been raining rather hard. I fiddled with all the stem to get a little bit and found that it had been in its own"Off" position instead of"Auto". After rotating the ending bit into the right place it works quite nicely but I don't think placing"Away" and"Auto" inside a knob's twist off was the best idea on the planet.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - that I|I still} really don't know whether it is manual really. It is kind of manual and automatic. You move the change up or down till you get to the number you want (0 3) and the automobile adjusts the headlights to suit that setting. The leveling headlights are not gimmicky whatsoever and were fairly helpful when driving through fog and also raising the sleeves to watch for deer/pedestrians across the face of the road. Another brilliant feature the G35x has been missing.

4) Aux Input - This really is the golden attribute for me! For the longest time (since 2005) I have always desired a way to play my iPod in my car.  I can't even start to count the number of trips and meetings I have been overdue on to while waiting for a CD to burn off so I did not have to pay attention to the same|identical|exact} old crap in my car when driving . In fact, I desired the aux input so awful that I denied the Mazda CX-7 when considering my next automobile purchase only based on the absence of an aux input and it had been worth it ten times over. I love having the ability to plug my iPhone into the stereo and simply scroll through the playlists to discover a list I'm feeling right now. It works easily and that I couldn't be more ecstatic over this attribute.

5) The Ride - Most individuals will give me a puzzled look but I'm telling you the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT includes a quieter ride than the 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does it ride better but it is much simpler and it does not make the"Mothership" car sick after I drive her in the vehicle. Thumbs up all over!

So these are the top five favorite things about the vehicle. Overall it is really just an experience that new car buyers have to attempt and think because it is extremely uncommon at this price point. I'm finally excited to drive different locations just to maintain the vehicle and I love every thing about it! If you do not own one, then buy one. If you own one, buy a 2008.5 model! brand trim, power driver's seat, gauges and everything in between are worth it.
