When the original Chrysler Turbo Cars premiered at the mid-80s, it generated the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) since we know it now, a vehicle with eight or seven chairs that drives like a car. It was such a hit that it sent all automobile manufacturers, including the Japanese and Europeansback to the drawing boards to come up with their own MPV versions.

Twenty five years on, with nearly every carmaker with its own interpretation of their Voyager, Chrysler has had to continually upgrade its MPVs to maintain a lead from the segment that it's created. The current Grand Voyager is that inaugural version and was launched from the late 90s. It had an outside facelift a couple of years back, and this year it receives the revolutionary'Stow n Go' chairs.

Flexibility has always been key to the allure of this MPV, but removing the chairs and locating a place to store it is an issue, particularly in the Asian markets in which people do not often have garages. Ahead of'Stow n Go', the Grand Voyager had little castors under their chairs so that they could be wheeled around, however they were incredibly heavy to lift from the car.  The solution is for chairs which don't have to be lifted out, but entirely disappear in the ground.

Aside from that, the Grand Voyager continues to impress, and maintains its name as the supreme MPV, if size and price were no object.
