After graduating college I was looking for a brand new car to replace my worn out Honda that had little to no life left. |} The cost I was expecting to cover was around $20,000 offering me plenty of alternatives to choose from. After test driving a number of different models, I decided to the Car Brands Owned By Volkswagen Group. My experience was mostly positive, however, the car is not without faults.

Acceleration: My car has got the 5cylinder motor using 150hp. It moves the car around adequately enough, but the car is not fast by any other means. Luckily the transmission is a 6 rate to ensure you're constantly in the best equipment. If you get a new Jetta, the car should feel a little more peppy since it has an extra 20 horsepower. Overall I'd give the car an 7/10 for speed.

that is unheard of in this budget.  It is quite smooth. {I'd accelerate the transmission a 9/10.

Handling/Steering: The car steers accurately and provides just the perfect amount of feedback. Handling is pretty impressive and the car always feels in control. |} Overall I rate it an 8/10 for handling.|}

Ride: The automobile rides company, but is controlled and comfortable. I prefer a firmer ride into the soft buttery feeling you get in a car like the Toyota Camry. Total 8/10.

Chairs: There's plenty of space front and back. For passengers and the seating is firm, but comfortable. There are loads of adjustments for the front seats including lumbar adjustment. The steering wheel tilts and telescopes which makes it effortless for anybody to find a good driving position. Total 9/10

Trunk: The back is huge, and can be larger than many. In addition, the car has got hooks for you grocery store bags in order that they remain in an upright position. It's touches like these that make this car special.  10/10

Exterior Styling: The car looks elegant with its chrome grille therapy, but the car is a little too tall for my own preferences. A number of the outside views seem somewhat too Japanese to my preference, for example, rear that has tail lights like the Toyota Corolla. Total 7/10

Interior Styling: The inside looks more expensive the anything in this course. The materials are rich and surfaces feel good quality. 10/10

Security: This car has airbags galore including two front, two side, and head airbags as well. 10/10

Reliability: I haven't had any significant difficulties with the car, but it simply has 33,000 miles on it. The transmission strikes down harshly sometimes and some of the inside elements come loose. Also, the passenger has been tacky ever since I bought it. People have to pull on the door handle double to open it. Overall I'd rate reliability a 7/10.

Price/Value: Considering its features, quality, and space the Jetta delivers good value for the money. 8/10
