About the Driver

I am coming out of a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible option so while I adjusted my expectations for the reduced price point ($22K with s-plan) that I was not ready for the method by which the Mazda3 would blow me away.

I push my own cars assertively (sometimes assertively competitive if there is anything ) and will really put this car through the moves during ownership. Driving a car is an experience every time and that I rely heavily on significant driving/comfort facets like acceleration, handling, ride, cottage noise, long term driving comfort and in car technology that will shape upcoming updates.

Note: You might notice a fairly hefty comparison in my initial|initial} impressions of this G35 to the Mazda 3 and that is mostly because in part to the simple fact that I almost bought the Mazda3 in 2005 but had been offered an excellent lease deal to a 2005 G35x loaded for almost the same that I would pay to get the Mazda3.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. Biggest regret of my life.

Now that you know mepersonally, let's discuss why you're here: initial impressions!

First Impressions

There are plenty of really impressive features in this car! I struggled for a very long time without being current within my 2005 Infiniti along with the Mazda 3  similar to an reply to my prayers. Here are some of my favorite features

1) Remote Start - that I  can't believe how bad cool remote start actually is. Manufacturers are finally starting to offer remote launch as an accessory that's installed at the port and I advocate it 200%. It's fantastic for every  possible hot/cold day if you don't feel like exercising in the weather to start the auto so that it can warm up just to run back in the home and finish getting ready.

Remote start is something that I really could see myself not alive without ever again and it wasn't an option on the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for supplying it. For the 2008.5 mid-year refresh, the Mazda has incorporated the distant launch into the regular important fobs so today you will not have two sets of control keys to work with on a single set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - If you've never seen it, you wouldn't believe it. While driving home I did not think the rain sensing wipers were functioning properly because the stem seemed to be in the right position and it had been raining quite hard. I fiddled with all the stalk for just a tiny bit and found that it had been in its"Off" position rather than"Vehicle". Once rotating the ending piece into the right position it functions quite well but I really don't think putting"Off" and"Auto" within a knob's turn away was the best idea in the world.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - I still|I still} don't know whether it is manual actually. It's kind of automatic and manual. You move the switch up or down until you reach the amount you need (0 3) along with also the car corrects the headlights to suit that particular setting. The leveling headlights aren't gimmicky at all and were fairly helpful when driving through fog and lifting the headlights to watch for deer/pedestrians across the side of the street. Another amazing feature the G35x has been overlooking.

4) Aux Input - This really is the golden characteristic for me! I've always wanted a way to play my iPod in my car.  I can't even start to count the amount of trips and meetings I've been overdue on to while searching for a CD to burn I did not need to pay attention to the identical|identical|exact} old crap in my car when driving . Actually, I wanted that the aux input so bad that I denied that the Mazda CX-7 when contemplating my next vehicle purchase only based on its lack of the aux input and it had been worth it ten times over. I really like having the ability to plug my iPhone into the stereo and simply scroll through the playlists to find a list I am feeling right now. It works seamlessly and that I couldn't be more ecstatic over this feature.

5) The Ride - Many individuals are going to offer me a confused look but I am telling you that the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT includes a nicer ride than the 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does this ride better but it is much easier and it doesn't make the"Mothership" auto sick after I push with her in the car. Thumbs up all over!

So these are the top five favorite things about the car. Overall it is actually just an experience that new car buyers need to try and believe because it is extremely rare at the price point. I am finally excited to drive different locations just to be in the car and I really like all about it! In the event you don't own one, then buy one. If you own one, buy a 2008.5 version! brand trim, power driver's seat, gauges and all things in between are worthwhile.
