Even the 2010 Camaro is among the very few cars to come out of the plan studio appearing very similar to it is prototype. Rather than send an upgraded fifth production version of the Camaro, the sometimes overused retro theme was chosen, hearkening back into the design cues that made the car such a large hit when it debuted in 1967. But Banks Chevrolet Used Cars did an excellent job of evoking the flavor of yesteryear with modern creature comforts. But how is it to drive the newest 2010 Camaro?
Different trim levels are available to make the automobile match your preference, but most people will look at one of two presently available versions: both the RS and SS variants. My very first test drive was using the six cylinder powered RS (for rebound Sport) version. This V6 is a variant of the General Motors company engine that goes in most of the cars nowadays. With Direct Injection and other modern technologies, this engine makes over 300 horsepower. In this, the final of the fourth generation Camaro's just made about 20 more horsepower, which was with a V8.
From the Cockpit
Standard equipment on the 2010 Camaro is plentiful, but some substances are a bit tough on the eyes and also a bit less soft to the touch for a car at this price point. The dark inside contrasts the thin slit of light coming in through the very cool looking, but hard to see out of windows. Some purpose is, sadly, forfeited in the name of form and selling more cars.
The RS may be the very best price for all, the standard independent rear suspension along with mild six cylinder engine leading to a mild front end with sufficient electricity to produce the RS a great handling car. Autocrossers may prefer the RS for this reason. But what the six lacks, besides a power bulge to V8 territory, is the kick in the pants power and sound of their corporate LS series motors installed in more expensive models. Without further ado, we move on the the Camaro"King of the Hill".
The Super Sport model jobs to recall the times of large block power. Chevrolet's site says that this 6.2 liter V8 may find a real world 19 mph from the EPA evaluation cycle. But using 422 horsepower on tap, so many won't be able to control themselves sufficient to see their very best mileage. In actuality, after forcing the SS, it was hard to return it into the dealer. The SS does all the RS does, however, with greater force. The treatment is somewhat compromised from the engine, but the suspension does a great job of reigning that in. If understeer become an issue, judicious (not unbridled, particularly with all the SS) application of the throttle will help that separate rear step out and correct the vehicles' management.
Having a mimimum of 300 horsepower plus some notable standard equipment, the 2010 Camaro has been enjoyable. Pay attention to the option box for that SS engine and you will feel nostalgic when behind the wheel. Although external visibility is somewhat compromised, there'll be no mistake when you return the road that this can be really anything but a Camaro. this, it is not surprising that the automobile has earned the status of a Consumer's Digest Best Buy.
