Audi's Audi Driverless Car  stand at the Geneva Motor Show hadn't been sublime as it had been in 2010. This was occurring some people wondered, however, a closer look at the stand had them answered. Inspired by nature and made for people such as the Samsung S III, the trailblazer of coupe technologies was perfect in all measurements. And it didn't stop there, because of its car's performance rivaled that of the magnificent R8. It had been evident BMW's M3 had finally found a competitive rival: it had been that the Audi RS 5.

The show-stopper

The automobile wasn't just Audi's hottest new version at the series but boasted of a bigger version of this R8's 4.2 litre V8 engine. It now appears this is the fad by German automakers because it had been just a few months after BMW had launched the sDrive 35iS, which had been just the same as the previous sDrive but with a search engine. That however doesn't mean invention has run fast in Ingolstadt, for the RS 5 has a newly designed front splitter with bigger air intakes and twin tailpipes at the rear. More importantly it comes with 19-inch rims as standard with available options offering 20-inch rims as well as carbon-ceramic brakes.

Better than Audi R8?

The V8 from the RS 5 generates 444 horsepower, which is 30 bhp over the FSI unit in the Audi R8. This is felt at 8250 rpm with 318 lb.-ft of torque kicking in at 4000 rpm. The car's acceleration from 0-62 mph is reached in 4.6 seconds before going up to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph that may reach 174mph in case derestricted. The speed is 0.2 minutes greater than at R8 however, the latter extends up to 186 mph. What did you expect? It's a Spyder anyhow.

The proof is in the driving

very first time, the particularly strengthened DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox) unit has emerged in an RS version.  This is the seven-speed S-tronic transmission, which simply refers to 2 clutches, 7 speeds and quick alterations. Another addition is Audi's all-wheel disk drive Quattro system which includes a new sort of middle metering that sends around 85 percent of the torque to the rear axle and 70 per cent to the front. During normal driving the RS 5 distribution is 40/60 front to rear and you're able to turn the ESP system off completely. Even the RS6's Dynamic Ride Control adaptive damping system functions as standard and drivers can choose between four driving modes plus a custom one such as in the A8. The car however doesn't come cheap at #57480, #5430 over the usual M3.
