Audi's 2011 Audi R8 5.2 V10 Fsi Quattro Spyder  stand at the Geneva Motor Show hadn't been as sublime as it was in 2010. Why this was occurring some folks believed, but a closer look in the distinguished stand had them answered. Inspired by nature and made for humans such as the Samsung S III, the trailblazer of coupe technologies was perfect in all sizes. And it did not stop there, because of its automobile's performance rivaled that of the magnificent R8. It was clear BMW's M3 had eventually found a competitive rival: it was the Audi RS 5.

The show-stopper

The car wasn't just Audi's hottest new version in the show but boasted of a greater version of the R8's 4.2 litre V8 engine. It now appears this is the fad by German automakers because it was only a few months after BMW had established the sDrive 35iS, that was the same as the previous sDrive but with a lookup engine. That however doesn't mean invention has run in Ingolstadt, for the RS 5 has a freshly designed front splitter with larger air intakes and double tailpipes in the back. More importantly it includes 19-inch rims as normal with available choices offering 20-inch rims in addition to carbon-ceramic brakes.

Better than Audi R8?

The V8 in the RS 5 generates 444 horsepower, and this is 30 bhp more than the FSI unit in the Audi R8. This is felt in 8250 rpm with 318 lb.-ft of torque in at 4000 rpm. The car's speed in 0-62 mph is reached in 4.6 minutes before going up into a limited top speed of 155 miles that may get to 174mph if derestricted. The rate is 0.2 seconds better than at R8 however, the latter goes up to 186 mph. What did you expect? It Is a Spyder anyway.

The proof is in the driving

very first time, the particularly strengthened DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox) unit has appeared in an RS version.  This is actually the seven-speed S-tronic transmission, that only refers to 2 clutches, 7 rates and fast changes. Another inclusion is Audi's all-wheel drive Quattro system that comes with a new sort of middle metering that directs around 85 percent of the torque to the back axle and 70 per cent to the front. During regular driving the RS 5's distribution is 40/60 front to back and you'll be able to turn the ESP system off completely. The RS6's Dynamic Ride Control elastic damping system comes as normal and drivers can select between four driving modes and a custom one such as in the A8. The car nonetheless doesn't come cheap in #57480, #5430 more than the usual M3.
