seeking a brand new car to replace my worn outside Honda which had little to no life left. |} The price I was hoping to pay was about $20,000 giving me plenty of choices to choose from. After test driving many distinct models, I chose to the 2008 Volkswagen Eos. My experience has been largely positive, however the car is not without flaws.

Acceleration: The car has got the 5cylinder motor using 150hp. It moves the car around adequately enough, but the car is not fast by any other means. Fortunately the transmission is a 6 rate to ensure you are always in the optimal equipment. If you buy a brand new Jetta, the car should feel a little more peppy as it has an additional 20 horsepower. Overall I would give the car a 7/10 for acceleration.

Transmission: The transmission is a 6 speed automatic which is unheard of in this budget.  It's quite smooth. {I would accelerate the transmission a 9/10.

Handling/Steering: The auto steers accurately and provides just the right amount of feedback. Handling is pretty impressive and the car always feels in control. |} tackling.|}

Ride: The car rides company, but is controlled and comfortable. I prefer a firmer ride into the soft buttery feeling you get in a car such as the Toyota Camry. Total 8/10.

Chairs: There's tons of room front and rear. For passengers and the seating is company, but comfortable. There are loads of adjustments for front seats including spinal modification. The steering wheel tilts and telescopes which makes it effortless for anybody to find a fantastic driving position. Total 9/10

Trunk: The trunk is huge, and is larger than many. In addition, the car includes hooks for you grocery store bags so they remain in an upright position. It is touches like these that make this car unique.  10/10

Exterior Styling: The car looks elegant with its chrome grille treatment, but the car is a little too tall for my own preferences. Some of the exterior views look somewhat too Japanese to my taste, for example, rear that has tail lights such as the Toyota Corolla. Total 7/10

Interior Styling: The inside looks more expensive the anything in the class. The materials are rich and surfaces texture good quality. 10/10

Security: This car has airbags galore including two frontside, and head airbags as well. 10/10

Reliability: I have not had any significant problems with the car, but it just has 33,000 miles on it. The transmission kicks down sharply sometimes and some of the inside components have come loose. Also, the passenger door has been tacky ever since I bought it. People have to pull on the door handle twice to open it. Overall I would rate reliability a 7/10.

Price/Value: Contemplating its characteristics, quality, and space the Jetta offers good value for the cost. 8/10
